The Baltic Vein Clinic offers all rational treatment methods using cutting-edge technologies and their combinations for treatment of vein diseases and has become a model for personalized medicine. Soon the Baltic Vein Clinic will offer the latest innovation in the treatment of varicose veins – SONOVEIN® Echotherapy, which has no analogues in Europe. It is an alternative to invasive treatments: no catheters, no chemical injections and no incisions.
SONOVEIN® is the latest innovation in the treatment of varicose veins. It is a high-precision echotherapy method designed to treat patients 100% non-invasively. The SONOVEIN® echotherapy solution is a revolutionary innovation that allows veins to be fully treated outside the operating room. Manipulation can be performed by one specialist and no post-operative rooms or inpatient beds are required.
Advantages of SONOVEIN®:
For patients, Echotherapy simply means a non-invasive treatment alternative: No catheters, no chemical injections and no incisions.
This results in treatment without any scars and without risk of infection.
Echotherapy allows an immediate return to normal daily activities and for some patients, for example, those with hemorrhage risks or recurrences from previous treatment, echotherapy may be the only possible choice.
In order to treat veins with echotherapy method, the patient has to plan only one day at our clinic. At first, the phlebologist will provide consultation and diagnostics. After the diagnostics, an echotherapy procedure is performed on the same day. In the evening of the same day, patient can leave the clinic and return to the rhythm of daily life.
Application of the method:
Very inaccessible veins, such as perforator veins, can also be treated – even in the presence of an open ulcer without the risk of infection.
Thanks to its non-invasive character, the beam can follow virtually any path – even tortuous veins, regardless whether being big or small. Once the targeted part is treated, the treatment head can easily be moved to the next segment.
If a patient presents with an existing stump and a neovascularisation or recanalisation, this stump and the newly formed vessels can be treated safely and effectively.
SONOVEIN® treatment process:
The treatment is a simple outpatient intervention. To start, the operator positions the system’s treatment head on the patient’s leg. The finetuning of the positioning is controlled via the SONOVEIN®.
During treatment a high-intensity ultrasound beam is focused step-by-step on the vein. As the thermal energy is delivered, the vein shrinks and is sealed closed. An in-beam linear ultrasound probe, allows visualization of the vein in real-time and insures optimal accuracy.
Echotherapy can be safely applied very close to the saphenous femoral junction, literally eliminating the risk of stump formation after treatment.
