Individual treatment for each patient will vary, and a detailed treatment process will be determined by each patient’s needs and state of health. Latvian clinics use minimally invasive and gentle surgical methods, therefore after surgery the patient will have to spend no more than a few hours at the clinic, and in more complicated cases – one to two days. In choosing to undergo plastic surgery in collaboration with Latvian clinics, the patient can primarily reckon with the establishment of a close relationship electronically, followed by a visit to Latvia lasting several days, including the performance of the planned operation. The general treatment process steps are as follows:
The length of the patient’s visit to Latvia depends on the chosen surgical manipulation and treatment plan. In brief, patients can anticipate the following surgical schedule:
Operation | Length | Anaesthetics | Treatment |
Eyelids | 1-3 h | Local or general | Outpatient
In the case of upper and lower eyelid corrections – one night in hospital |
Otoplasty | 2-3 h | General or local | Outpatient |
Rhinoplasty | 1-2 h | General or local | One night in hospital |
Mammoplasty | 1.5-3 h | General | 1-2 days in hospital |
Contouring with injection lipolysis | 1-2 h + | General | Outpatient
Large-scale – a stay in hospital |
Liposculpture | 1-2 h + | Local, epidural or general | Outpatient
Large-scale – a stay in hospital |
Abdominoplasty | 2-3 h | General | 3-4 days in hospital |
Brachioplasty | 1-2 h | Local or general | Outpatient |
What services are available?
Plastic surgery includes a wide range of services – eyelid surgery, nose plastic surgery, ear plastic surgery, breast correction, body and face contouring with adipose tissue injections, liposuction, etc. Liposuction is available for practically all areas of the body – it is one of the most popular ways to adjust the contours of the body.
Who determines what procedures are required in each individual case?
For each separate case it is assessed by a professional doctor, after hearing the patient’s wishes and an examination. In some cases, it is sufficient to carry out only a certain cosmetic procedure without surgical intervention. Plastic surgery is an invasive and serious operation, therefore your doctor will always carefully consider the potential risks and benefits.
Where are plastic surgery procedures performed?
A precise location is determined by the procedure to be performed. For each individual case, a clinic or hospital that specializes in the specific manipulations is selected. The price of plastic surgery depends on the chosen procedure. Plastic surgery in Latvia is much more affordable compared to how much does plastic surgery cost in UK and elsewhere in Europe, yet its level is consistently high, it is performed by professional specialists using high-quality equipment.
Is the result long-lasting?
The result depends on the selected procedure. Almost all manipulations involving plastic surgery have a lasting or permanent result. What plastic surgery involves, what is the consistency of results, and what is the feedback from other clients and other questions can be discussed during a preoperative consultation, as well as electronically before the appointment.
How long does it take to recover after plastic surgery?
It highly depends on the type of procedure and individual conditions – how quickly the scars will heal, swelling will decrease, etc.
