Heavy breasts can cause back, neck or shoulder pain, breast reduction surgery can significantly improve women’s health and release emotional discomfort. An experienced surgeon will help to choose the most suitable operation method for each woman, which is determined by individual anatomical features and desires for a specific result. During the operation excess tissue, fat and skin are removed. The nipple and the areola are shifted to a higher position and if needed, the areola is reduced in size. Typically the operation is performed in a multidisciplinary center. The healing time is about two to three weeks, the scars become less noticeable over time.
Plastic eyelid surgery is recommended as a very effective means of ensuring that sunken eyelids and bags beneath the eyes do not have a negative impact on a patient’s quality of life. Sunken eyelids can make a person look older than their years, make a person look unreasonably tired, as well as frequently impairing vision. These operations can be conducted for both medical reasons, as well as in cases when the operation is intended to improve the patient’s outer appearance.
Procedure: sunken eyelids, bags, dark rings under eyes are removed, through removal of excess fatty tissue, skin and muscular tissue around the eyes. Wounds will be sewn up with fine sutures that leave scars looking almost invisible.
Recovery: bruises and oedema will last for 2–3 weeks, and the use of cold compresses is recommended. The patient will be able to read on the 2nd-3rd day after the operation, and will be able to restart using contact lenses two or more weeks later. Over a period of 6–8 months, scars will gradually become lighter until they cannot be seen at all.
Results: the effect will endure for several years, sometimes permanently.
Corrective nose operations are usually carried out on people who believe that their nose looks unnatural and is not in harmony with their other facial features. Rhinoplasty treatment serves to correct congenital or post-traumatic defcts, as well as to resolve various breathing problems. Unless specifically recommended by a doctor, rhinoplasty operations are not recommended for people under 14-16 years of age.
Procedure: during surgery, it is possible to correct the shape of the patient’s nose, reducing it (removing part of the nasal bone and cartilage), changing the shape of the nasal tip or bottom half of the nose (transforming or narrowing nasal cartilage), narrowing the nostrils (removing a small amount of tissue from base part of the nose) or changing the angle between the nose and upper lip (changing the nasal septum).
Recovery: after surgery, the patient will use a plaster, metal or plastic splint to help to preserve the new shape of his nose. Splints and stitches are removed 7–10 days after surgery. Oedema will reduce after 1–2 weeks. Physical strain should be limited for 2–3 weeks after the operation, while the patient should avoid sunbathing or physical impact to his nose for eight weeks. The patient will regain his normal appearance after one year.
Result: the effect is permanent.
Otoplasty surgery is usually chosen by people who’ve spent years suffering in the belief that the ears are too flappy, or have noticed that their child has already experienced psychological complexes or could do so in future due to this congenital idiosyncrasy.
Procedure: during surgery, flappy ears are transformed so that they are repositioned closer to the patient’s head, or else their size is reduced. In most cases, otoplasty surgery is carried out on children aged 4 to 14 years, but it is also performed on adults.
Recovery: for 10 days, after the operation the patient must wear an elastic band around his head. He can return to work or school after 5–7 days. For 1–2 months, the patient should limit any intensive physical exercise.
Result: the effect is permanent.
Reduce the visible signs of aging on your face and neck with the help of a Facelift! During this surgical procedure, the mid-face, lower face skin, and deeper tissues are lifted, and excess skin is removed. The duration of the Facelift surgery is from 2 to 4 hours. Typically, the patient spends one day recovering under medical supervision, where, if necessary, pain or anti-swelling therapy is provided. You can go home on the next day, and after a few weeks of recovery, fully return to your daily activities.
Mammoplasty operations are much in demand not only in Latvia, but all over the world. Among them, the most popular breast operation is breast augmentation with silicone implants. Breast augmentation surgery can be required if a woman has small, undeveloped or asymmetric breasts, as well as in the event of changes to her breasts after breastfeeding. Breast reduction surgery is conducted to relieve potential physical discomfort and improve the patient’s sense of well-being. Disproportionately large breasts can cause back or shoulder pain and result in other health problems.
Procedure: breast augmentation is carried out with the insertion of implants. Implants are available in various shapes – round implants are usually chose for an effective décolletage zone, while “anatomically” shaped implants are available for a natural form. A reduction operation involves removal of surplus breast tissue and skin, nipple relocation and the improvement of the shape of the patient’s breasts.
Recovery: for four weeks, after breast augmentation surgery, the patient is required to wear a special bra. She can take a shower on the 4th or 5th day after the operation, but she should not go swimming or do physical exercise for at least 3 – 4 weeks after surgery. Although early results will be visible 2-3 weeks after surgery, the final outcome will only be visible after 3-5 months.
Result: long-lasting.
This procedure is conducted in order to improve the patient’s aesthetic appearance and to prevent soft tissue defects caused by injuries and surgery. Injection lipolysis for aesthetic purposes is carried out on areas of the body and face, which have lost their shape due to natural aging or changes in body weight, as well as in cases, when the patient wishes to give his body additional volume in certain places. In reconstructive surgery, injection lipolysis is carried out on areas where the body or face has soft tissue defects, resulting from surgery or injuries.
Procedure: fatty tissue is removed from the donor. The fatty tissue is purified and injected into the area that the patient wants to improve. The required fatty tissue can also be obtained during liposculpture treatment.
Recovery: swelling and bruises will initially be visible at the site of the injection. These will disappear approximately two weeks after surgery.
Result: the durability of the results may vary from patient to patient.
These days, a prerequisite for looking and feeling well is a developed and proportional body. For those who want a smoother or more proportional body, the solution could be fat and body modelling. This is not a weight loss method, because the volume of fatty tissue sucked out is quite small.
Procedure: during liposculpture surgery, the patient’s body shape is improved by removing excess fat using a pipe and vacuum apparatus. The most common body areas on which patients choose to undergo liposuction are the chin, cheeks, neck, upper arms, tummy, bottom, upper thighs, kneecaps, lower legs and ankles.
Recovery: for 2–3 weeks after surgery, the patient must wear tight elastic compression clothing that reduces oedema, bleeding and prevents formation of uneven skin. For a few days after the liposculpture surgery, the patient will feel discomfort in the operation area, along with slight burning pain. The patient can return to work after 1–2 weeks, restart bearing bigger physical loads after 2–4 weeks, while oedema and bruises will fully disappear after 1-6 months.
Results: the effect is enduring if the patient maintains a sensible diet and does regular exercise.
What services are available?
Plastic surgery includes a wide range of services – eyelid surgery, nose plastic surgery, ear plastic surgery, breast correction, body and face contouring with adipose tissue injections, liposuction, etc. Liposuction is available for practically all areas of the body – it is one of the most popular ways to adjust the contours of the body.
Who determines what procedures are required in each individual case?
For each separate case it is assessed by a professional doctor, after hearing the patient’s wishes and an examination. In some cases, it is sufficient to carry out only a certain cosmetic procedure without surgical intervention. Plastic surgery is an invasive and serious operation, therefore your doctor will always carefully consider the potential risks and benefits.
Where are plastic surgery procedures performed?
A precise location is determined by the procedure to be performed. For each individual case, a clinic or hospital that specializes in the specific manipulations is selected. The price of plastic surgery depends on the chosen procedure. Plastic surgery in Latvia is much more affordable compared to how much does plastic surgery cost in UK and elsewhere in Europe, yet its level is consistently high, it is performed by professional specialists using high-quality equipment.
Is the result long-lasting?
The result depends on the selected procedure. Almost all manipulations involving plastic surgery have a lasting or permanent result. What plastic surgery involves, what is the consistency of results, and what is the feedback from other clients and other questions can be discussed during a preoperative consultation, as well as electronically before the appointment.
How long does it take to recover after plastic surgery?
It highly depends on the type of procedure and individual conditions – how quickly the scars will heal, swelling will decrease, etc.
