PRODUCT: Eye prostheses made from various materials to fill in the eye cavity.
DESCRIPTION: Eye prostheses are an invaluable aid for people who need to fill in an eye cavity. Each and every prosthesis is uniquely handcrafted, testifying to mastery of the specialist who created it and making it comparable to a work of art, which cannot be replicated. Quality guaranteed by cutting edge technologies and the mastery of specialists produce a wonderful cosmetic effect and maximum functionality. Eye prostheses in Latvia are made from top quality German cryolite glass, as well as plastic and silicon materials from Europe, the USA and Canada. Depending on the chosen material, eye prostheses are made within 1–3 days. Every prosthesis comes complete with a 2 year technical durability warranty. Prostheses are made for both adults and children. The following types of prostheses are available:
A post-operation prosthesis is used for 1.5-2 months after the operation to remove the eye in order to maintain the eye cavity form while the scars heal. Afterwards, the chosen individual prosthesis is used.
The glass eye prosthesis creates a reflection just like a real eye does – it imitates the appearance of a real eye better than a plastic prosthesis. A cryolite glass prosthesis must be replaced every two years.
PMMA prostheses are made from a monolithic mass. They are more durable and often weigh more. The prosthesis must be replaced every two years.
An impression of the eye cavity is used to make silicon prostheses. Thus, eye prostheses are even more comfortable to use, reducing eye membrane irritation and tears. In most cases, the mobility of eye prostheses is also increased.
Ecto prostheses are orbital eye prostheses to which artificially made eyelids are attached in order to cover the facial defect in the orbital area. The ecto prosthesis is made from plastic or silicon materials and is fastened to facial skin with special glue.
INDICATIONS: For people who have lost one or both eyes due to an accident or illness, as well as in cases when the pupil of the eye has become blind, has contracted or become dull.
RESULT: Provides an outstanding cosmetic effect and maximum functionality, allowing the patient to fully adapt to the surrounding environment. Prostheses also have prophylactic medical functions, as a result of which permanent use of prostheses is compulsory.
