Individual treatment for each patient will vary, and a detailed treatment process will be determined by each patient’s needs and state of health. By choosing to start infertility treatment remotely and to cooperate with Latvia’s clinics, the patient can primarily count on the development of a close relationship electronically and 2-3 personal visits. The general treatment process steps are as follows:
It is important to realise that the patient coordinators will provide support to every patient throughout the process. In cases where pregnancy has been successfully achieved, consultation will continue after the procedures on how to successfully cease therapy using medicinal products. However, in accordance with best practice guidelines, it is recommended that subsequent patient supervision and pregnancy guidance should be conducted by a doctor in the patient’s home country.
Who has access to infertility treatment?
Fertility procedures are available for both women and men. For each individual case, examinations of the couple are carried out and a complex infertility diagnosis is determined. A reproductologist will set the necessary examination plan and determine further actions.
What basic analyses are available for women?
Hormonal analyses, gynecological, abdominal ultrasound, as well as hysteroscopy are performed to diagnose female infertility. Based on the results, a treatment is prescribed.
What basic analyses are available for men?
Infertility can also affect men. Indications may be more difficult to spot; however, fertility procedures for men can also be effective. Hormonal tests and spermogram, which determines the amount and motility of sperm responsible for the ability to fertilize an egg, can be performed as fertility tests for men.
What insemination methods are available?
Artificial insemination is one way to treat infertility. Our fertility clinics offer both IVF medical insemination and IVF with donor cells, as well as ICSI (injecting a single sperm cell into a healthy egg). It is possible to store embryos if several are prepared during the IVF process.
What are the options for men whose semen does not contain sperm?
Even in those cases where male semen does not contain sperm, there are options available to become a biological father. The Andrology Center offers micro-TESE surgery which allows for microsurgical acquisition of spermatozoids that can be used to fertilize an egg.
