Children’s Clinical University Hospital receives quality management system sertificate ISO 9001:2015.

Children’s Clinical University Hospital received an assessment of its quality management and effectiveness with ISO 9001: 2015 certification at all stages of the hospital service, as evidenced by a DNV GL certificate.

ISO 9001 is the most widely recognized quality management standard in the world, helping organizations deliver quality services that meet customer needs and meet mandatory and established requirements. The certificate confirms the high quality of the Children’s Hospital in emergency medicine and observation, outpatient, day care, inpatient, rehabilitation, diagnostic services, as well as care, education, science and research.

“The pace of development of medical technology and pharmacology is very fast nowadays, which is why the continuous development and improvement of medical institutions management and personnel competencies, integrating improvements in all management and treatment processes according to the highest quality requirements is very important, ”explains Head of Quality Department of Children’s Hospital Anastasia Ustinova.

The audit focused on feedback from patients and families about hospital experience during treatment, and evaluated the processes developed to analyze and improve the data provided. “The interest and involvement of patients and their families in participating in treatment decisions is growing each year, as well as the understanding of patients rights, the duties and responsibilities of hospital staff. We can only achieve our goals, good results if we and our patients have the same understanding of what is good, what quality and patient safety should be,” explains A.Ustinova.

During preparation for certification, the Children’s Hospital has carefully and purposefully refined all processes at the hospital to first and foremost enhance patient safety. Second, the standards developed and the international guidelines used would be uniformly used in all treatment processes, which would reduce the risk of error due to an individual approach. Thirdly, the resources available would be used transparently and efficiently and would provide the patient with the necessary health care.

“Achieving the certification level is not an end in itself. This demonstrates the ability and desire of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital to provide the most effective management system and operation possible. ISO 9001 is an important prerequisite for the major step of conformity assessment, the international accreditation of a hospital to the professional DNV Standard for Hospitals, which is the next goal in the Children’s Hospital Plan”.
