WeSkill project seeks to equip VET students and adults/employees from the sector with the needed skills, competences, modern training and didactic tools, thus to make wellness and spa tourism sector more appealing, sustainable, advanced and competitive in the EU area.
After the working package 3 which was focused on identifying the wellness and spa sector skills’ gaps, the main objective of the working package 4 was to design transnational curricula and develop supporting learning materials for 5 modules that the project partners have agreed on based on the needs of the labor market in the spa and wellness sector:
Digital skills
Digital marketing skills
Client oriented communication and service skills; problem solving skills
Design of spa and wellness products
Sustainability development in spa and wellness company
The first activity of the working package 4 was to design the curricula for EQF level 4 related qualifications. According to the methodological requirements based on ECVET procedures and in-line with EQAVET principles, units of learning outcomes for the 5 modules were defined. Then the scope and the content for each module were described, giving additional information on the implementation (entry requirements, duration, teaching/learning strategies and methods, references and resources). And finally, assessment criteria were determined, specifying the levels of achieved learning outcomes. All the curricular documents were peer reviewed by the project partners. After that, consultation workshops with key stakeholders’ representatives were held in each partner country in order to validate the curricula developed and provide recommendations for its implementation in the national context.
The second activity of the working package 4 was to create learning materials for 5 modules. Following the content of the curricula, different kinds of learning materials were created to support the implementation of the five modules: handbook with theoretical contents, glossary of terms for spa and wellness, presentations for teachers, audio-visual materials, exercises for promoting active learning and self-evaluation testing materials. Two workshops were organized to coordinate the activities related to the preparation of all the materials. They were also revised by the project partners and experts. The final versions were translated into all the project languages: Bulgarian, French, Greek, Italian, Latvian, Serbian and Slovenian. They were adapted to partner countries’ specifics and are ready to be integrated in the multilingual e-learning platform.
For each module, a short presentation video was prepared to show the content in a modern and attractive way. The picture shows the content of the module 4 Design of Spa and Wellness Products.
The materials were developed in agreement with the design of the e-learning platform where they will be available for training VET students and employees from the spa and wellness sector.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
All the learning materials will be available in the multilingual E-learning and training platform which will offer an interactive and immersive educational experience. Currently the construction of the platform and integration of the materials are underway. The designed curricula and learning materials will be tested by pilot trainings for VET students and employees from the spa and wellness sector in 7 participating countries.
