Amendments to the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers have been approved today, which provide for permission to enter Latvia during COVID 19, also from the Red List Countries, with the aim of receiving treatment in Latvia.
” 37.11. Foreigners, whose arrival in Latvia to receive treatment under the auspices of medical tourism has been approved by the Health Inspectorate, if the referred to persons can present a document confirming that they have undergone a laboratory test / Covid-19 diagnostics no earlier than three days before their arrival in the territory of the Republic of Latvia and it does not determine infection with Covid-19.”
“38.1. The persons referred to in Sub-clause 37.11 of these regulations, providing their name, surname, personal identity document number and contact phone number, shall attest in writing that, while present in the territory of the Republic of Latvia outside the medical treatment institution, they will comply with the requirements referred to Clauses 56 and 615 of these Regulations.”
“55.1 The person may leave the place, where he or she is staying, using a medical face mask to travel to his or her country or residence or to change the place where he or she is staying. Before leaving the place of quarantine at home, in order to travel to his or her country of residence, or before changing his or her place of quarantine at home, the person shall notify the Health Inspectorate accordingly.”
“56.2 A person may leave the place he or she is staying, wearing a mask covering his or her nose and mouth to travel to his or her country of residence or to change the place where he or she is staying. Before leaving the place of self-isolation to travel to his country of residence, or before changing his or her place of self-isolation, the person concerned shall notify the State Police accordingly.”.
“60.1 In order for the person specified in Clause 37.11 of these Regulations to receive treatment, the medical tourism service providing treatment institution shall be provide the Health Inspectorate with information about:
60.1 1. The person, who will receive treatment, specifying the person’s name, surname, personal identity document number and contact phone number;
60.1 2. The healthcare service required for treatment, which the person will receive and the justification for receiving this service;
60.1 3. The medical treatment provider, who will provide the referred to service, specifying the person’s name, surname and speciality;
60.1 4. The place where he or she plans to stay, specifying the address.”.
“61.5 Persons, who have arrived in the territory of the Republic of Latvia with the aim of receiving treatment at a Latvian medical treatment institution under the auspices of health tourism, from a country, which is a country published on the centre’s website to which special precautionary and restrictive measures apply:
61.5 1. During self-isolation, he or she or she may use public transport, using a mask to cover his or her nose and mouth, only for purpose of travelling to the place where he or she is staying in the territory of the Republic of Latvia and to a Latvian treatment institution to receive a healthcare service;
61.2. No later than 24 hours after arrival in the territory of the Republic of Latvia, he or she shall undergo a laboratory test/Covid-19 diagnostics;
61.5 3. He or she shall undergo a repeated laboratory test/Covid-19 diagnostics on the 5th–7th after the person’s departure from a country, which is a country published on the centre’s website to which special precautionary and restrictive measures measure apply, if he or she is staying in Latvia for more than five days;
61.55.5. Shall cover all treatment-related costs if the person is confirmed as being infected with Covid-19.”
