Every patient will receive professional psychiatric, psychotherapeutic and psychological assistance that will help to identify the emotional reasons for the patient’s anxiety, alarm or other disorders. The rehabilitation process includes diverse activities with which patients can improve their social and creative skills, as well as improve the treatment process.
Latvia’s clinics offer rehabilitation programmes lasting several days that have been prepared in advance, which adapt complex treatment to cases involving specific problematic situations. Depending on the chosen programme, the package on offer will include a specific number of consultations from specialists and medicinal therapy as required. The programmes will also include a varying number of activities (therapeutic exercise, art therapy, etc.) and several beauty care procedures to help the patient find her inner harmony. The rehabilitation programme also includes accommodation costs and meals. Examples of the programmes available include:
Psychotherapy offers complex psychiatric, psychotherapeutic and psychological assistance. As part of this treatment, the patient can undergo both individual and group psychotherapy, during which he may courses to help him understand the nature of his disorders, awareness practice and cognitive behavioural therapy. In collaboration with specialists, patients learn to discover and understand themselves – identifying the motivations that guide the patient along certain paths in life. Therapy helps the patient to master various techniques that will help him to cope with stress, to develop more patience or to come to terms with and like himself. Cognitive behavioural therapy is the gold standard for treating illnesses such as depression, panic attacks, OCD and many other psychological problems. The scientific rationale for the methods allows the clinic’s specialists to treat a wide range of psychological problems in a short space of time.
Analysing the relevant situation, if necessary, the patient may also be subjected to medicinal therapy. Clinics use modern pharmacotherapy medicines, which doctors prescribe in accordance with European recommendations regarding prescription of antidepressants and other psychotropic medicines.
The practice of awareness helps the patient to master various attention and awareness activation techniques, including meditation, visualization and relaxation. Awareness meditations train the patient’s ability to be “here and now”, as well as to accept the past and to peer into the future trustingly. Targeted exercises will encourage patient to accept and relax his body and to successfully activate his mind.
A therapeutic method that is aimed at helping the patient to overcome the psychological consequences of injuries. The patient is encouraged to concentrate on processes occurring currently and to form a balanced relationship with the surrounding environment. Gestalt therapy teaches the patient to become aware of his needs, to accept his strengths and weaknesses and to make choices consciously.
Psychological harmony is not possible without a healthy body, therefore activities are available to clients that will help to restore their physical powers. The therapy process includes specially developed health exercise training:
Under the guidance of an art therapist, various activities take place that help patients to transform negative emotions and to release their creative spirit. Dance therapy is rooted in the idea that an individual’s body and psyche mutually interact. The patient is invited to express his thoughts and experiences through movement. Therapy helps patients to relax and better understand both their emotions and their body. The main objective of body relaxation groups is to reduce tension at emotional and muscular level. Art therapy gives patients the opportunity to use their creative potential and to use the creative process to release oppressive thoughts and aggression. Various creative workshops and handicrafts are highly conducive to nurturing positive emotions.
Individual treatment steps will vary from patient to patient, and a detailed treatment price will be determined by each patient’s requirements, state of health and chosen clinic.
In what cases I should consider therapy?
An accurate diagnosis and treatment can be determined only by psychiatry experts. Therapy is required for a variety of diagnoses, such as obsessive compulsive disorder, adaptation disorder, depression, burnout syndrome, panic attacks, vegetative disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and others.
Should I see a therapist if there are no visible complaints?
If possible, it is recommended to have at least one session with a psychiatry expert to discuss mental health for two reasons: firstly, many issues can develop gradually, for example, the burnout syndrome develops for six years on average, which means that it is possible to indicate it in time before it reaches its peak; secondly, people sometimes adapt to their mental disorders and do not even realize that it is possible to feel better and live a fuller, more emotionally colorful life.
What services are available?
We offer a wide range of psychiatry services that can improve mental health – medical rehabilitation programs, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, consciousness activation, gestalt therapy, physical activity, creative activity, as well as the combination of these elements as needed to achieve the desired effect.
Who determines the type of therapy ro be applied?
The best method for improving the quality of life can be done only by a psychiatrist who evaluates the state of health, emotional well-being and other indicators. The psychiatrist will evaluate the condition and prescribe a treatment. An experienced psychiatry expert can do this during the first session.
How to make an appointment?
Initially the patient’s needs are clarified electronically or over the telephone. Next, the time and institution where the patient will meet the specialist is set followed by the required psychiatry sessions, rehabilitation procedures, therapies, etc. At the end of the course, the results are controlled remotely and communication is maintained.
